Video Production

In addition to game development, another thing I’m passionate about is video production! I’ve made over 60 game-related videos for my personal YouTube channel, and helped produce dozens of videos for commercial YouTube channels and internal partner showcases. I am comfortable with doing every discipline of video production by myself or mixing and matching my skills with others as needed.

My Skills

  • Script Writing
  • Shot Planning
  • Footage Collection
  • Recording Voice Over
  • Video & Audio Editing
  • Creating in-game tools to facilitate recording

Biome Pets Add-On Trailer

Biome Pets Add-On was a project I led, and I was also given the responsibility of orchestrating a trailer video for it. This involved taking my knowledge of the project and using it to write a voice over script and shot list that would be appealing to the Minecraft audience. I also assisted the footage collection team by creating tools in-game to help get all the shots we wanted. In the end, I was really happy with how the script, footage, and final edit came together.

Bruce Lee: Dragon Fury Trailer

Bruce Lee: Dragon Fury was a very fun and surreal add-on to work on. I was asked to orchestrate a trailer video for the project, and a key difference for this one is that they did not want any voice over for it. So I tried my best to make an engaging shot list that showed the essence of the add-on without using any words. I assisted the footage collection team yet again by making in-game tools to facilitate getting the shots we wanted. This was a fun and unique challenge for me and I love how it turned out.

AFK Farms Add-On | 1.2 Update Video

During my time at Dotzip Developments, I contributed to many update videos showing off new features in recent product updates. This AFK Farms update video is an example of a video that I was the sole contributor to. I handled the voice over script, shot list, footage gathering, voice over recording, and video editing. I really enjoy getting to conceptualize and work on every aspect of a video like I did for this one.

Tunnel Boring TNT (Mod Showcase)

This is my favorite video I ever made for my personal YouTube channel. It shows off a cool mod I made that adds some new functionality to TNT. Naturally, I handled all parts of video production myself: including scripting, shot planning, voice over recording, and editing. I love this one because of how simple yet engaging it is, and how clearly is demonstrates the various aspects of the mod without overstaying its welcome. Syncing up the shots and voice over with music is something else I really enjoy, which this video demonstrates well.
